Viva.com lets businesses accept payments in store and online: Tap on Phone turns compatible smartphones into terminals, Smart Checkout adapts payment to the customer's country, and the offer includes business accounts with IBAN and cards. The group includes the bank Vivabank and earns mainly acquiring commissions, with revenue of €258.6 million in 2025. Founded in 2000 by Haris Karonis, Makis Antypas and Panos Tsakos (the Viva Wallet brand is more recent), it is based in Athens and Marousi. It raised €75 million in 2019 and US$80 million in April 2021 from Tencent, EBRD and Breyer Capital; in January 2022 JPMorgan bought a stake from existing shareholders at a value of about €2 billion that shareholders later contested. Current control and any new round are not verified.
