Remote provides infrastructure to hire, pay and manage workers in several countries: it offers employer-of-record services through its own local entities, with payroll, benefits, compliance and contractor management, plus HR tools, mobility and employee equity services. It was founded in 2019 in San Francisco by Job van der Voort (CEO) and Marcelo Lebre (President); the team works entirely remotely and the holding is American, with a European entity in Amsterdam. It raised an $11M seed (April 2020), a $35M Series A (November 2020), a $150M Series B (July 2021) and a $300M Series C (5 April 2022, SoftBank Vision Fund 2), for $496M nominal. The Series C valued it at nearly $3 billion. Valuation and rounds after 2022 are not verified. By origin it is a non-European company.
