About Mambu

Traditional core banking is by definition a monolithic system: every function โ€” account management, interest calculation, payment processing, regulatory reporting โ€” is built as a single block, difficult to modify and impossible to disassemble. When a bank wants to add a new product type or adapt to a new regulatory context, it must touch the heart of the system, with all the operational risk that entails. Mambu imagined an alternative: a cloud-native, modular, composable core banking platform where each component works independently and can be freely combined to build any financial product. Mambu's platform is API-first by design. A bank or fintech that wants to build a savings account, a microloan product, or a prepaid card can assemble the necessary modules like building blocks, without constructing the underlying infrastructure from scratch. The composable model means that a single component โ€” such as interest calculation logic โ€” can be updated without touching the rest of the system. This flexibility is exactly what legacy banks struggle to offer and what fintechs and neobanks require as a minimum condition for operating competitively. Mambu's addressable market is broad and varied. On one side are cloud-native neobanks and fintechs that need a modern core banking platform from day one. On the other are traditional banks seeking modernization without a full legacy migration. Both segments are growing, driven by competitive pressure from digital players and the evolving requirements of open banking regulation. Founded in Berlin by Eugene Danilkis and Jakob Lindenthal, Mambu operates on a SaaS license model priced on the volume of customers and products managed on the platform โ€” a structure that aligns incentives with client growth. Mambu's positioning within the composable banking category differentiates it from both legacy systems and first-generation cloud platforms, positioning it as the infrastructure of choice for the next generation of banking.
