About Hyperlayer
Hyperlayer is a London banking-technology company founded in 2023 by Rob Rooney, CEO and a former head of international at Morgan Stanley, and Paul Rolles, also a former Morgan Stanley colleague. Its platform is described as programmable banking: software that runs on top of a bank's existing technology stack so lenders can launch new products and work around the limits of older systems, without replacing the core banking system. The website lists components such as AI-enabled actions defined in plain language, customer-defined rules, composable blocks for accounts, limits and rewards, real-time execution with no overnight batch runs, and deployment on-premises, in the customer's cloud or hosted by Hyperlayer. Listed solutions are agentic banking, consumer banking, business banking and integrated wealth. City AM cites Phoenix Group's Standard Life, with which Hyperlayer is working on a money app for people near retirement, and a consumer app with digital savings pots and rewards at partners such as Asda, Morrisons and Starbucks. In October 2025 it raised £30 million, with CDAM, Mouro Capital, Iona Star and Flintlock Capital. On 20 October 2026 it announced a £19.5 million Series A2 led by Flintlock Capital with Mouro Capital and Susquehanna Private Equity Investments; FinTech Futures reports a post-money valuation of £195 million. Plans include expansion in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
