Scandit develops computer-vision software that reads barcodes, text, documents and objects through camera-equipped devices. The technology is built into business apps through an SDK or used through ready-made applications, in retail, transport, logistics, manufacturing and healthcare for inventory, deliveries, shelf management and self-checkout. Founded in Zurich in 2009 by three ETH co-founders, it raised $5.5M (2014), $7.5M (Series A, Atomico), $30M (Series B, GV), $80M (G2VP) and $150M (Series D, Warburg Pincus, 09/02/2022), at a valuation above $1B. On 15/09/2026 it launched a loss-prevention solution for self-checkouts.
