About Mirelo

Mirelo is a German generative-audio AI company founded in 2023 by Carl Johann (CJ) Simon-Gabriel and Florian Wenzel. Both former musicians, they met as AI researchers at Amazon; Simon-Gabriel holds a PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tรผbingen under Bernhard Schรถlkopf. The legal entity is Mirelo AI GmbH and the main trade press places it in Berlin; Cyber Valley counts it in its Tรผbingen ecosystem. It trains its own models: a user uploads a video and receives matching audio within seconds. The video-to-sound model Mirelo SFX v1.5 produces several soundtrack versions faster than real time; the company says it needs about 50 times less compute than a typical large language model and that its training data is covered by licensing agreements. The models are also available through an API and on platforms such as fal.ai and Replicate, and there is an Adobe Premiere Pro plugin. On 15 December 2025 it announced a $41 million seed led by Index Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz, with Atlantic and TriplePoint Capital and angels Arthur Mensch and Antoine Le Nel; total raised is about $44 million. On 19 October 2026 Nvidia announced an investment, of undisclosed size, alongside three other German startups. The stated goal is to become the audio layer for visual content: video, games, social media and film.
