About Magazino
Magazino develops mobile robots that navigate warehouses and handle containers. SOTO connects storage areas with production lines by collecting and transporting small component carriers and interacting with transfer stations. TORU handles individual boxes, with a documented focus on footwear logistics. Mission and fleet management link the machines to the customer's warehouse systems. Magazino GmbH was established in 2014 by Frederik Brantner, Lukas Zanger and Nikolas Engelhard. Its registered address on Landsberger Straße lies within Munich. Following a seed investment from HTGF and two business angels, its ownership history included Siemens and industrial and logistics investors. A €20.1 million capital increase is documented in 2018. The 2020 package also involved venture debt, so its entire announced value is not treated as equity funding. Jungheinrich acquired full ownership on 23 August 2023. Magazino continues as a group company, and its current website describes responsibility for autonomy across Jungheinrich's broader automation portfolio as well as its own robots. This profile therefore presents an acquired business and distinguishes primary financing from loans and share purchases. The parent company's accounts provide acquisition details that were not disclosed in the initial press release.
The Story
Founded in early 2014 by Brantner, Zanger and Engelhard following work in the TUM environment and support through EXIST and FLÜGGE. HTGF documents seed financing in May 2014.
