About Dougs
Dougs is a French online accounting company founded in 2015 in Lyon by Patrick Maurice, president and CEO, Véronique Maurice, Sarah Jaouani and Florent Galland, chief operating officer. It presents itself as the accounting firm itself, not just a tool for accountants: AI agents prepare clients' financial statements and a chartered accountant reviews and signs them. For eight years the company funded itself. In July 2023 it received €25 million from Expedition Growth Capital, a British fund, its first external investment, described by Frenchweb as a Series A; it then had about 14,000 clients and 250 employees. On 15 October 2026 it announced another €50 million from the same investor, aiming to change scale and build agentic AI systems for accounting. According to Tech Funding News the company has more than 50,000 small-business clients and 836 employees, including more than 120 engineers, about 200 accountants and more than 200 lawyers. Turnover was €52.2 million at 30 September 2026 and annual recurring revenue is above €50 million, up from €15 million in 2023. Frenchweb reports a target of €100 million in recurring revenue.
