Cargoful, a Milan startup, brings artificial intelligence into the heart of these processes. Cargoful's platform is a transportation management system — TMS — built natively with AI. It covers the entire operational cycle: route planning, load optimization, real-time execution, shipment tracking, and CO2 emissions reporting. Cargoful's algorithms simultaneously optimize multiple variables — vehicle capacity, delivery time windows, driving regulations, fuel costs — producing transport plans more efficient than those generated by human planners or traditional software. The business model is B2B SaaS: logistics companies pay a subscription fee per user or per vehicle in the fleet, with tiered levels based on the number of vehicles, premium features, and required integrations. Emissions reporting is a module of growing value, given the European regulatory pressure on Scope 3 within the supply chain. The European freight transport market is fragmented and under pressure on two fronts: rising operating costs (fuel, drivers, tolls) and sector decarbonization targets. A platform that can reduce empty kilometers traveled, optimize loads, and provide emissions data addresses both pressures simultaneously, creating a strong adoption case for both CFOs and sustainability executives. Cargoful chose Milan as its base to operate in the Italian market — one of Europe's largest for road freight — with ambitions for continental expansion.
