Ineffable Intelligence
Ineffable Intelligence's pitch deck (never published publicly) has become a venture capital case study for what it does not contain: no TAM slide, no 3-year revenue projections, no go-to-market plan.
What it contained, according to descriptions from those involved in the process, was the classic structure of a research lab pitch: the technical thesis ("AI systems that learn from experience will surpass those trained only on human data"), team credentials (David Silver — AlphaGo, AlphaZero, head of RL at DeepMind for years), and required infrastructure (partnership with Nvidia for large-scale reinforcement learning compute).
A frontier AI lab pitch deck structure is fundamentally different from a SaaS startup's. The investor is not evaluating "will this product capture market X" — they are evaluating "does this team have the scientific credibility and resource access to generate breakthroughs that create new markets".
For regular founders: Ineffable's pitch is not a model to imitate. But it teaches one universal lesson — every pitch must answer one fundamental question before all others: why this team, on this problem, at this moment? Everything else is detail.
A pitch deck is not a commercial document — it is an answer to the question "why this team, on this problem, now?". Everything else serves to support that answer.
