WeRoad

WeRoad was founded in 2017 in Milan by three co-founders who had a personal problem: travelling alone was lonely, travelling with friends was complicated to organise. And no existing platform solved the need to find co-travellers with similar interests for curated group experiences. The startup built a marketplace where travellers sign up for curated itineraries — adventure, culture, outdoor — with groups of up to 15 people selected by interests and profile. The model differs from traditional tour operators: WeRoad is a community that meets offline to travel together. In May 2026, WeRoad raised $58M in a Series C led by Airbnb — a significant strategic investment — to expand to the US starting from Austin. The company took 100,000+ travellers on tours in 2025, generating €130M in revenue.
