About Tensive

Tensive develops REGENERA, branded SOFTAG in the United States, a bioresorbable polymeric scaffold intended for breast reconstruction after lumpectomy. The device is inserted into the cavity left by tumour removal and is designed to support the patient's tissue as the material is gradually absorbed. Founded in Milan in 2012 as a Fondazione Filarete spin-off, the company closed a €14 million Series A in 2025 and signed up to €20 million in convertible financing with the European Investment Bank in September 2026. The proceeds will fund clinical studies, CE marking, industrialisation and launch readiness. REGENERA remains under development: the reported results are promising, but approval, clinical adoption and performance at scale have not yet been established.

The Story

  • Conditions attached to the drawdown of the EIB tranches

Strategic Insights

  • Public venture debt can extend a medtech company's runway without immediately increasing equity dilution.
