Listen to the episodeAbout QuantrolOx
QuantrolOx, founded in 2021 as a University of Oxford spinout by Vishal Chatrath (CEO, former Nokia executive), Andrew Briggs, Natalia Ares and Dominic Lennon, develops machine-learning software that automates qubit tuning, stabilisation and control, tasks largely performed manually by specialist physicists today. Its platform, Quantum Edge, is designed to work across different hardware architectures. The company is headquartered in Espoo, Finland, with offices in Oxford, Delft and Bengaluru. After a £1.4 million seed round in 2022 led by Nielsen Ventures and Hoxton Ventures, on October 22, 2026 it announced a €12 million Series A led by IW Capital, with the EIC Fund and Transpose Capital, to accelerate commercial growth and US expansion. According to research cited by the company, its system tuned quantum devices in under 70 minutes, beating the best human benchmark: a result that still needs validation across more systems and customers.
