Listen to the episodeAbout Phononic Vibes
Founded in 2018 as a Politecnico di Milano spinout by Luca D’Alessandro (CEO), Giovanni Capellari and Stefano Caverni, Phononic Vibes designs metamaterial-based noise and vibration-control products protected by 18 patent families. Its barriers, cabins and silencers, designed and made in Italy across three sites, are up to 30% lighter at equal acoustic performance according to the company. Deutsche Bahn certified its transparent noise barrier for the German rail network and Mercedes-Benz uses the technology in series production; customers also include Webuild and Equans. Since 2025 the group has included Matis, a cabin and enclosure maker active since 1979. The company reports revenue doubling every year since 2018, break-even in 2025 and more than 100 people. On October 22, 2026 it announced a €25 million financing led by Jolt Capital, with Eureka! Venture, CDP Venture Capital and Simest; the deal also includes the purchase of 360 Capital’s stake, so it is not entirely new capital.
