About Matters

Founded in Stockholm in April 2026 by Per Österström, previously founder of loan broker Sambla, Matters emerged from stealth on October 15, 2026 with a $5 million pre-seed led by angel investor Jakob Johansson. Its announced model combines a flat monthly fee for banking services, an AI adviser that helps customers spend and save better, and cashback of card and foreign-exchange fees. The company still needs to obtain the required licences, has not named its first launch markets and announced its first product for the following weeks.
