Founded in Turin in 2008 by David Avino, now CEO, Argotec designs and builds small satellites of up to 350 kg for civil, scientific and security missions. For NASA it built ArgoMoon, the only European CubeSat on board Artemis 1, and LICIACube, the secondary payload of the DART mission, named AIAA Small Sat Mission of the Year in 2023; it also takes part in the IRIDE programme. It opened its SpacePark in San Mauro Torinese in 2024, a production site in Melbourne, Florida, in April 2026 and a telecommunications technology hub in California in 2026; it also has an office in Troisdorf, Germany. It reports capacity of 52 satellites a year, targeting 80. On October 29, 2026 it announced its first funding round, €50 million subscribed by Nuo Space, the vehicle of Milan holding company Nuo led by Tommaso Paoli; according to the CEO it is the first step of a much larger capital increase. The funds will go to parallel production lines and standardised platforms, satellites that process data in orbit, downstream services for end customers and growth in the United States.
