ALKELUX has patented an antimicrobial bioadditive derived from licorice processing waste, in powder form, integrated into food packaging materials to extend shelf life (tested on strawberries); it is metal-free, fully water-soluble, and requires no modification to existing production lines. Founders: Matteo Poddighe (CEO, PhD in Chemical Sciences and Technologies, inventor of the technology), Davide Sanna (Tech Advisor), Carlo Usai (CFO) and Emina Bilanovic (CMO).
