About Alethio Therapeutics

Alethio Therapeutics was founded in 2021 as Alethiomics, a University of Oxford spinout created by physician-scientists Adam Mead and Beth Psaila, and is based at Abingdon Science Park near Oxford. In December 2021 it raised a ยฃ6 million seed round led by Oxford Science Enterprises, with Cancer Research UK as a minority shareholder; in October 2025 it changed its name and appointed Rohit Batta as CEO. It develops therapies for myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), chronic blood cancers, using its ARTEMIS discovery platform. Lead programme ATX-011 is a monoclonal antibody targeting the G6B receptor to normalise platelet counts in essential thrombocythaemia: it is still preclinical, with IND-enabling studies under way. On 5 November 2026 it announced an oversubscribed $90 million (ยฃ67 million) Series A co-led by Sofinnova Partners and RA Capital, which will fund a Phase 1/2a study of ATX-011 and move other programmes towards IND.
