Wallbox is a Spanish company founded in 2015 in Barcelona by Enric Asunción and Eduard Castañeda that built over ten years one of the strongest positions in the global electric vehicle charging market. Wallbox's proposition is not just charging: it's intelligent energy management — Wallbox products (Pulsar, Commander, Quasar) combine home and business charging with energy management systems that optimise consumption, support bidirectional charging (vehicle-to-grid), and integrate with solar panels and storage systems. Listed on the NYSE (ticker WBX) since 2021 through a SPAC, Wallbox operates in a favourable but competitive market, facing pressure from automotive OEMs developing proprietary solutions and consumer electronics giants. 2025 results show a company in restructuring: €145 million in revenues (with gross margin at 38.3%, improving 400 bps vs 2024) but significant operating losses and a financial situation under pressure — in February 2026, the NYSE notified non-compliance with minimum capitalisation requirements. A standstill agreement with creditors was being renegotiated. Despite financial difficulties, the technology positioning remains solid: the Quasar 2 (bidirectional) and the Supernova PowerRing (up to 400 kW per outlet in DC fast charging) indicate a product portfolio that looks toward the future of charging infrastructure.
