Tozaro (formerly MIP Discovery) is a British biotech founded in 2015 in Bedford, Bedfordshire. The company uses molecular modelling and ML to develop smart polymers capable of specifically binding to gene therapy vectors (such as adeno-associated viruses), reducing production costs that currently represent one of the main barriers to gene therapy adoption. The Smart Polymer platform uses over 500 chemical groups to create specific binding compounds, compared to ~20 amino acids used by traditional protein-based technologies. In February 2026 it raised โฌ6.9M led by Mercia Ventures, bringing total raised to โฌ27.2M.
