Skeleton Technologies, founded in 2009 in Tallinn, Estonia, develops high-performance supercapacitors based on curved graphene, components capable of storing and releasing energy much faster than traditional batteries, used to stabilise electrical grids, integrate intermittent renewable sources, and support high power-density applications such as AI data centres. The company's funding path has accelerated notably in recent years: after a โ‚ฌ108 million round with participation from Siemens Financial Services and Marubeni Corporation aimed at accelerating development of the SuperBattery โ€” the company's new high-power battery technology โ€” and financing manufacturing expansion, Skeleton Technologies announced in May 2026 the first close of a โ‚ฌ33 million pre-IPO round, in preparation for a planned 2027 U.S. listing, with participation from Siemens Financial Services, Marubeni Corporation, FirstFloor Capital, and EIT InnoEnergy.
