About Scindo

Scindo is a British biotech startup founded in 2023 combining synthetic biology and AI to develop enzymes capable of degrading hard-to-recycle plastics. The platform uses AI models for designing optimised enzymes that can decompose polyethylene, polypropylene and mixed plastics into reusable monomers, enabling scalable chemical recycling of plastics that currently end up in landfill or incineration. In September 2025 it raised EUR 4.5M in a seed round.
