Refurbed, founded in Vienna in 2017, operates a European marketplace for verified, warrantied refurbished products (smartphones, laptops, appliances, and more), positioned as a more sustainable and affordable alternative to buying new. The company aims to make refurbished electronics a mainstream consumption choice rather than a niche for consumers particularly focused on price or environmental sustainability. October 2025 brought a significant funding round: €50 million led by Alex Zubillaga and Orilla Asset Management, with participation from existing investors C4 Ventures, Almaz Capital, Evli Growth Partners, Bonsai Partners, and Speedinvest, aimed at accelerating UK expansion, broadening product categories, and enhancing the platform with AI-powered features.
