Arik Shtilman, Arkady Karpman, and Omer Priel founded Rapyd with a clear ambition: to build the invisible bank of the global internet. Not a consumer bank, but financial infrastructure that powers marketplaces, digital platforms, and international companies that want to operate anywhere in the world without having to build connections to hundreds of local payment systems from scratch. Rapyd is a Fintech-as-a-Service platform: a single API that enables acceptance and disbursement of local payments in more than 100 countries. Behind that API is a network of connections with local banks, payment operators, mobile money systems, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods that vary enormously from country to country. In Brazil the preferred method is Pix; in India it is UPI; in Germany many still use direct bank transfers. Rapyd aggregates all of this into a single interface. The value proposition for B2B customers is eliminating years of technical integration and local compliance work. A marketplace expanding into ten new markets no longer needs to open ten local entities or negotiate ten separate banking agreements: it integrates once with Rapyd and gains immediate access to the entire network. This dramatically lowers the barriers to international expansion for fintechs, SaaS platforms, gig economy marketplaces, and B2B companies. The model is B2B with a transactional structure: revenues come primarily from per-transaction fees, with additional services tied to account management, virtual wallets, payouts to workers or suppliers, and integrated compliance tooling. The London headquarters positions Rapyd at the center of the European fintech ecosystem, with a global footprint covering emerging markets where the diversity of payment methods is at its greatest. In a world where financial infrastructure is often the primary obstacle to international expansion, Rapyd has built itself as the layer that enables that expansion โ invisible to the end user, indispensable to those building on top of it.
The Story
Rapyd was founded in 2015 (initially as CashDash) to simplify cross-border payments and fintech services. The founders understood early that payment infrastructure would consolidate and that companies moving internationally would need a single, unified API.
