About Monumental

Monumental develops autonomous bricklaying robots and coordinates them through its Atrium platform. Founded in 2021 in Amsterdam by Salar al Khafaji and Sebastiaan Visser โ€” formerly co-founders of Silk, acquired by Palantir โ€” the company operates as a subcontractor: it owns the machines and gets paid for completed structures. With a fleet of over 150 robots already deployed on sites in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, Monumental raised $32 million in a Series B led by Khosla Ventures in July 2026 to expand its fleet, automate additional construction tasks and launch its first projects in the United States.
