About Moneyfarm

Moneyfarm is a fintech platform founded in 2011 in Milan offering digital financial advisory services, functioning as a robo-advisor: users answer a questionnaire about their risk profile and financial goals, and the platform automatically builds and manages a diversified investment portfolio, at significantly lower costs than traditional financial advice. The most important development in Moneyfarm's recent history concerns its strategic partnership with Poste Italiane, which has progressively taken on an increasingly central role both as a shareholder and as a distribution channel. After an initial 2022 investment (โ‚ฌ53 million alongside M&G) and a subsequent โ‚ฌ12 million capital increase alongside Allianz, Moneyfarm launched a new trading account through Poste Italiane's network, generating a surge in net inflows: in early 2025, net collection grew 350% compared to the same period in 2024, with total flows six times higher than the previous year. The results are reflected in aggregate figures: by mid-2025 Moneyfarm was managing over โ‚ฌ6.5 billion in assets for more than 165,000 clients, with 38% growth in assets under management and 33% growth in its client base compared to the same period the previous year. It's worth noting this is a commercial partnership and equity investment, not an acquisition: Poste Italiane remains a significant shareholder and strategic distribution partner, not Moneyfarm's controlling owner. The Moneyfarm case demonstrates how distribution through established physical networks โ€” in this case the extensive reach of Italian post offices โ€” can dramatically accelerate the adoption of digital fintech products even in markets historically more conservative about investing, such as Italy.
