Neurological recovery after a stroke or traumatic brain injury is one of the slowest and most frustrating processes in modern medicine. Neuroplasticity — the brain's ability to create new connections to compensate for damaged ones — is real and documented, but it requires intense repetition, immediate feedback, and sustained motivation over time. Traditional therapy is constrained by the number of available hours with physiotherapists and the monotonous nature of exercises. MindMaze chose to change this paradigm by using virtual reality, motion capture, and artificial intelligence to create immersive rehabilitation environments that make therapy more effective, more engaging, and potentially available in home settings. Founded in Lausanne by Tej Tadi, MindMaze combined clinical neuroscience and gaming technology to develop platforms certified as medical devices, used in hospitals and rehabilitation centers worldwide. A patient working with MindMaze experiences therapeutic gameplay: they see their avatar complete movements, receive immediate performance feedback, and are motivated to repeat exercises at a frequency impossible in conventional therapy. The system continuously captures data on rehabilitation progress, allowing clinicians to personalize protocols and measure outcomes objectively. The business model is based on the sale and licensing of medical solutions and training platforms.
