About Hprobe

Hprobe is a research spin-off based in Grenoble, France, founded in 2017 to develop automatic wafer-level test systems for magnetic devices โ€” particularly MRAM (Magnetoresistive Random-Access Memory) and TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) sensors. This is a highly specialised segment of semiconductor Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), where the ability to generate and control magnetic fields with extreme precision is a critical technical requirement for validating chip quality before mass production. March 2025 marked a turning point in Hprobe's history: the company was acquired by Mycronic, a Swedish group specialising in precision equipment for the electronics industry, and became a new business line within the group's Global Technologies division. The deal responds to a technology consolidation logic: Mycronic strengthened its leadership in magnetic device testing, while Hprobe gained access to the Swedish group's global infrastructure to accelerate expansion across Asia, North America, and Europe. On the product side, Hprobe kept innovating after the integration: its new H3DM-XLL magnetic generator can produce vectorial magnetic fields above 200 millitesla in any direction of space, reaching over 500 mT in-plane and more than 250 mT out-of-plane across a large, uniform area โ€” a capability that positions it as the only commercial solution offering full three-axis vector control for wafer-level testing and characterisation of magnetic sensors. The MRAM market is in structural growth, driven by demand for faster, more efficient non-volatile memory for edge computing, automotive, and next-generation data centre applications.
