About HepaRegeniX
The liver is one of the most extraordinary organs in the human body โ one of the few capable of regenerating itself after partial damage. But when that capacity fails, in cases of chronic disease or acute insufficiency, therapeutic options remain limited. Transplantation is the definitive solution, but waiting lists are long and donors scarce. HepaRegeniX was founded to explore a third path: drugs capable of reactivating and enhancing the liver's own regenerative capacity. The company's scientific approach aims to reverse the course of liver disease, not merely slow it or manage its symptoms. HepaRegeniX develops therapeutic molecules that act on the liver's cellular regeneration mechanisms, with the goal of offering a cure โ not just a treatment โ for both acute forms and chronic conditions affecting millions of patients worldwide. The company's pipeline follows the typical biopharma clinical path: from molecular candidates identified in the laboratory through to validation in clinical trials, with stakeholders including hepatology specialists, biomedical research centres, and potential pharmaceutical partners interested in licensing or co-developing the therapies. The liver disease market is large and underserved. NAFLD โ non-alcoholic fatty liver disease โ affects roughly 25 percent of the global adult population, and its more severe forms such as NASH and cirrhosis represent an enormous unmet medical need, with very few approved drugs currently available. HepaRegeniX moves into this space with a scientific platform that, if clinically validated, could open a new chapter in the management of liver disease. The goal is not to optimise existing approaches but to shift the paradigm: from chronic disease management to a genuine possibility of recovery.
