Listen to the episodeAbout Gyver
Gyver was born from a simple question: who takes care of the careers of electrical technicians? Founded in Brescia in 2024 by Francesco Defendi, Leo Acciarri, and Mattia Zarrelli โ three founders who had previously worked together building solar installations for industrial SMEs โ Gyver is now Italy's first career platform entirely dedicated to technicians in electrical, electronic, automation, electromechanical, and electroinstrumental fields. The model is deliberately different from traditional job boards: no emails, no lengthy forms. Matching happens via WhatsApp, replicating the word-of-mouth logic that has always governed the technical labour market. A technician joins the community, is contacted directly by the Gyver team, and is supported throughout the entire process โ from application to interview to offer negotiation. The service is free for technicians; companies pay to access the community and sponsor their open positions. The community counts over 25,000 active technicians across Italy, built primarily through social channels (Instagram and TikTok as @gyver.italia) with content mixing industry information, sector humour, and regulatory updates. On the company side, Gyver works with multinationals, large electrical contractors, and local SMEs โ customers include Schneider, Amazon, and Boffetti. In May 2026, the startup raised 1.4 million euros in a pre-seed led by Brighteye Ventures, with participation from altitudine, Vento Ventures, Zanichelli Venture, and Antler โ the accelerator during whose programme the startup was founded in autumn 2024. The funds will be used to strengthen the technology, expand territorial coverage, and launch the first training courses, where Gyver aims to be present across the full career cycle of a technician: from job search to professional upskilling.
