Greenpixie is a UK startup addressing an increasingly urgent challenge for large organisations: the uncontrolled growth in costs and emissions tied to cloud infrastructure and AI adoption. As AI workloads proliferate — training, inference, fine-tuning — companies find themselves paying for idle cloud resources and consuming energy in high-carbon regions, often without realising it. Greenpixie's platform operates on three fronts: it identifies wasted cloud resources and suggests concrete optimisations, analyses AI workloads to propose scheduling and rightsizing solutions, and provides visibility into infrastructure-linked emissions — with recommendations on which cloud regions to choose based on the carbon intensity of the local energy mix. The fact that Mastercard is among Greenpixie's Fortune 1000 clients is a strong signal: large corporations need tools that turn FinOps and GreenOps from separate, often contradictory disciplines into an integrated approach to cloud efficiency. Greenpixie aims to be that layer. The £4.7 million Pre-Series A round, led by VERBUND X Ventures with participation from Octopus Ventures, Armajaro Holdings, and Green Angel Ventures, positions the startup at the intersection of cloud optimisation, AI infrastructure, and sustainability — three themes that will become increasingly central to enterprise strategy in the years ahead.
