Exoticca

Exoticca is an online travel platform founded in 2013 in Barcelona that digitised a segment traditionally dominated by physical agencies: multi-day vacation packages to long-haul, complex destinations (Asia, South America, Oceania, Africa). The platform bundles flights, hotels, meals, transfers, and activities into a single online-purchasable offer, removing the physical travel agency intermediary while preserving the level of care typical of organised tours. The model has attracted significant institutional investors: Exoticca has raised a total of $117 million across 11 rounds. In February 2025, it closed an €85 million Series D, comprising €60 million in equity led by Quadrille Capital and €25 million in debt provided by BBVA Spark to support international expansion and technology investment. According to several industry sources, the financing makes Exoticca a credible candidate for unicorn status in the near future. Exoticca's positioning benefits from two converging trends: the growth of post-pandemic long-haul travel, with an audience increasingly inclined toward complex international trips, and the acceleration of digitisation in the travel sector, where newer generations of travellers prefer to book and organise complete experiences directly online, without physical intermediaries. The platform remains privately held, with no publicly scheduled IPO as of 2026.
