About DocPlanner

Booking a medical appointment in the early 2000s meant calling the clinic, waiting on hold, and hoping something was available within a reasonable timeframe. For millions of patients across Europe and Latin America, that was the everyday reality. Mariusz Gralewski founded DocPlanner in Warsaw to change it: move healthcare scheduling online, make real-time availability visible, and lower the friction between patients and the professionals who care for them. DocPlanner operates as a two-sided platform. On the patient side, users can search for specialists by city, specialty, and availability, read verified reviews from other patients, and book appointments directly. On the provider side, healthcare professionals and clinics pay a SaaS subscription to access appointment management tools, automated patient reminders, digital records capabilities, and marketing features that improve their online visibility. The marketplace and the software layer are designed to reinforce each other: clinics that use the practice management tools also benefit from the patient traffic the platform generates. The scale the company has reached is substantial. DocPlanner now lists more than two million healthcare professionals, handles roughly 22 million appointments per month, and serves over 30 million users across 13 countries in Europe and Latin America. Its valuation has crossed the one-billion-dollar mark, placing it among the handful of healthtech unicorns to emerge from Central and Eastern Europe. The medical scheduling market remains fragmented and heavily analog across many geographies โ€” a challenge that requires local sales teams, regulatory adaptation, and patient education, but also a long-term growth opportunity for a company with the operational infrastructure to execute market by market. DocPlanner has pursued an aggressive geographic expansion strategy, building local teams in each market and acquiring regional incumbents where an established presence accelerated integration. The platform's deepest impact runs beyond convenience. By reducing no-show rates through automated reminders, improving the utilization of clinicians' schedules, and making specialist access faster and more transparent, DocPlanner addresses one of the most persistent inefficiencies in European healthcare systems: the gap between available medical capacity and the patients who need it.

The Story

Polish entrepreneur Mariusz Gralewski initially created a doctor review site inspired by TripAdvisor. Spotting demand for online bookings, he expanded it into an appointment and practice management solution, renaming it DocPlanner. Later, he acquired Doctoralia and combined operations to become a global player.
