About Apotea

Apotea is Sweden's largest online pharmacy, founded in 2012 in Haninge with a simple but disruptive idea: make buying medicines and health products as convenient as any online purchase, with delivery often within 24 hours, competitive pricing, and an extensive range. In over a decade, Apotea has grown to serve more than 3 million customers across Sweden. The company operates in a heavily regulated sector โ€” Swedish online pharmacies must comply with the Medical Products Agency's standards โ€” but has built a strong competitive advantage in logistics, pricing, and user experience. In 2024, Apotea recorded net revenues of SEK 6.3 billion (approximately โ‚ฌ550 million), growing 20% year-on-year with an adjusted EBIT margin of 4.1%. December 2024 marked a major milestone: its IPO on Nasdaq Stockholm. Selling shareholders raised approximately SEK 1.64 billion ($149 million), and the market debut exceeded expectations with the stock surging strongly in its opening sessions.
