Altrove is a deep-tech startup founded in Paris in 2024 by Thibaud Martin and Dr. Joonatan Laulainen through the Entrepreneurs First programme. The company developed a materials discovery platform that uses AI to design sustainable alternatives to rare earths and cobalt for high-performance magnets, sensors and actuators. The approach combines proprietary AI models, automated lab synthesis and self-learning characterisation to reduce time-to-discovery from years to weeks. In 2025 it raised $10M in a seed led by Alven with Bpifrance, Contrarian Ventures and Emblem.
