Listen to the episodeAbout Advanced Machine Intelligence
Advanced Machine Intelligence, often referred to as AMI, is a Paris-based AI startup founded by Yann LeCun together with a team of researchers and operators from the Meta and AI ecosystem. The company aims to develop world models: systems able to learn abstract representations of environments and support forms of reasoning and planning closer to interaction with the physical world. Its more than $1B seed round announced in March 2026 is one of the largest ever raised by a European AI startup.
The Story
Founded after Yann LeCun's departure from Meta, AMI was created to build a European and more open alternative to US frontier AI labs.
