Additive Drives is a Dresden startup founded in 2020 by Dr. Jakob Jung, Axel Helm and Philipp Arnold that has developed a new generation of electric motors produced with additive manufacturing. The technology enables rotor windings in complex shapes impossible with traditional processes, achieving up to 98% energy efficiency and eliminating dependence on rare earths. With over 70 employees, 300 projects and 20 patents, the startup serves customers including Amazon, Airbus, Audi, BMW and Schaeffler. In February 2026 it raised โฌ25M+ from Nordic Alpha Partners.
