Adaptronics is a Bologna-based deep-tech startup founded in 2022 as a University of Bologna spin-off. The company developed the EAAL (Electro Active Adhesive Layer), an electro-adhesive gripper technology enabling robots to grasp surfaces of different shapes, textures and materials without changing end-effectors. The technology has applications in industrial robotics, warehouse automation and the space sector. In November 2025 it raised โฌ3.15M in a seed round with participation from CDP Venture Capital and ESA BIC Turin.
