Naples is Italy's third startup ecosystem by number of innovative companies (842 in the province, MIMIT 2025 data) and the engine of the South in innovation. The city combines one of Europe's largest universities (Federico II), the Apple Developer Academy — Apple's largest programme in Europe — and research labs like TIGEM, which has generated world-class spin-offs such as AAVantgarde Bio. The gene therapy cluster, the Campania aerospace district and the CTE Naples incubation programmes are the pillars of a growing ecosystem.
